Description

The Minnesota Lakes Maritime Museum is dedicated to the lakes, boats, boat builders, and the history of different boats within the Alexandria area. The museum features a historic look into the boat making business, going back to 1885 and includes artifacts such as boat making tools and machinery that people used during that time period. They also include vintage replicas of the first boats ever made, as well as past photos and histories about the first builders, themselves. They also have access to the Grand Hotels & Resorts, which holds past information on what the accommodations used to host for people in the early 1900s. They also have the Minnesouri Club’s Summer Porch, which was built by a conjoined club to better improve the social culture of its members. Featured on the grounds are a variety of boat shows, community educational programs, and musical events in the garden.
