Description
The Finn Creek Open Air Museum captures the culture and lifestyle of the strong Finnish influence in the New York Mills area. It includes 18 acres of several log barns, an original farmstead, a smoke sauna, a sawmill, and a gift shop. Each site contains artifacts including clothing, domestic tools, and agricultural tools from the late 1800s that successfully illustrate the Finnish history. The Finn Creek Open Air Museum is also the location of the Finn Creek Festival, which celebrates local heritage with food, music, dancing, and theater at the summer’s end.
