Another resource that the society includes is the county’s historical placement, such as maps and old photographs of the agriculture and living of the past. As well, they have a priced resource to do research on genealogy. Research material includes, obituaries, town newspapers and business townships all ranging from the late 1800s to early 1900s. </text>

There is also a display on the early European settlers, culminating in a walk down an early 20th century street. Some other artifacts on display include an old ox car, a stagecoach, a furnished log cabin, and a schoolhouse. As well, the Museum and Historical Society also offer genealogical study for the public. The types of the material available for research include past censuses, indexed obituary and marriage records, naturalization records from 1883 to 1943, past Grant County newspapers, plat books, and unique histories on the community itself. <text>The Beltrami Historical Society was founded in 1952. Our first location was adjacent to the present-day Bemidji Area Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center in downtown Bemidji, next to the famous statues of Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox. Here, the BCHS operated a museum, offered research assistance and pursued its mission of preserving Beltrami County history for more than twenty years. In 1993, the BCHS moved to a building located at the Beltrami County Fairgrounds and operated as a research center with no exhibit space or museum. In 1999, a collaborative vision to bring the BCHS and museum back to downtown Bemidji became a community-wide priority. Minnesota State legislative appropriations, investments by local units of government, area businesses and countless individuals achieved an ambitions goal of restoring the James J. Hill railroad depot. The exterior of the depot has been fully restored, and while maintaining the historical integrity of the interior, it was rehabilitated for adaptive reuse and opened as the new Beltrami County History Center, at 130 Minnesota Ave. SW Bemidji, MN on April 30, 2001.</text>

<text>The Roseau County Historical Society has been in existence for more than 95 years, and the museum portrays the past as well as the present. They include, within their museum, old photos and artifacts on the county’s past development such as information on agriculture, manufacturing and trade. As well, they also have artifacts and histories on the Native American settlements and a Military Service file that holds photographs and biographies on past military personnel. Alongside their exhibits, the Roseau County Historical Society also includes an extensive amount of research material for genealogy information. This feature does cost five dollars for one-on-one help; however, they still include cemetery, obituary, and death indexes, starting from the late 1800s, within and the surrounding counties of Roseau. Other information they include are school and county tax records, marriage and naturalization indexes from 1904 to 1915, files on past businesses and churches, past high school yearbooks and past Roseau county newspapers from the late 1880s to present. </text>
