Historical Museum
The Ulen Historical Museum helps preserve the history and culture of Ulen, MN. Of its exhibits, it includes an extensive doll collection, a replica of a pioneer home, a sports memorabilia wall with signed autographed artifacts from Minnesota’s best known athletes, a military exhibit that features photos and past uniforms and a monthly traveling exhibit from the Minnesota Historical Society.

Moorhead-Heritage Education Commission
Heritage Commission
The Heritage Education Commission is an independent, non-profit commission developed for the purpose of creating, initiating, and conducting programs and projects, which aid in the preservation or restoration of the cultural heritage of the Upper Midwest region. Their three major activities are an annual Family History Workshop, on the MSUM campus, and ongoing Veteran’s Oral History Project, and making Family History Research Awards at the annual workshop.

Historical And Cultural Society of Clay County
Society and Museum
The Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County holds the Hjemkomst museum in Moorhead, MN. It is named the Hjemkomst after the Viking ship, which was built by a local teacher and sailed in Norway. The ship is now on display, along with a film about its construction and the sea journey. Emphasis of the collection is the Norse rots of the Clay Country, and a recently built, historically accurate Stave church is located behind the museum. Along with these permanent displays, the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County also have seasonal and changing exhibits as well as an extensive amount of information on genealogy work and past community families. Some of the information that they carry include Clay County newspapers ranging from 1872 to the present, census records from the late 1800s to early 1900s, death and marriage indexes, naturalization records from 1872 to 1954, plat books, tax records, local community histories, and past manuscripts. Other unique information that the Society holds include photography collections from Ollie E. Flaten and S.P. Wang, displaying early street scenes from the Clay County.
