Within Lyle’s Logging Camp, it includes replicas of old equipment used by passed loggers as well as six building sites made by retired forester, Lyle Chisholm, that contain past used tools and photographs. Next to the Camp, the Cass Lake Museum is held in the formerly used railroad depot. Title A name given to the resource Cass County, MN Museum & Historical Society Subject The topic of the resource Historical Society and Museum Description An account of the resource The Cass County, MN Museum & Historical Society provides an extensive American Indian collection that highlights the strong connection with Leech Lake Reservation. This includes information and exhibits on cultural practices such as canoe building, maple sap harvesting, and wild ricing. Primary exhibits feature about Ojibwe Indians, fur traders, as well as “hands-on” exhibits in their pioneer Huset School. Within their researching center, they offer a wide variety of information including indexes of obituaries (1898-1904), county newspapers ranging from 1894 to the present, village histories, and photography, with a requirement fee of ten dollars.
