Title A name given to the resource Historical And Cultural Society of Clay County Subject The topic of the resource Society and Museum Description An account of the resource The Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County holds the Hjemkomst museum in Moorhead, MN. It is named the Hjemkomst after the Viking ship, which was built by a local teacher and sailed in Norway. The ship is now on display, along with a film about its construction and the sea journey. Emphasis of the collection is the Norse rots of the Clay Country, and a recently built, historically accurate Stave church is located behind the museum. Along with these permanent displays, the Historical and Cultural Society of Clay County also have seasonal and changing exhibits as well as an extensive amount of information on genealogy work and past community families.
